Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker

I bought this Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker at the same time I bought a coffee bean grinder. I was tired of lousy coffee at work and the cost of the cafeteria coffee. I figured if I'm going to drink coffee every morning, it might as well be good! Going with this "higher end" coffee maker was well worth it.
The Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker is a simple yet convenient coffee maker designed by a well respected Japanese

Perfect for 2 mugs. Very stylish, compact and looks great on counter compared to other clunky coffeemakers. Like the fact the Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker water reservoir can be filled straight from my great tasting tap water. Can actually make a another cup if you pour additional water into reservoir when halfway through brewing process.
  • 650-watt drip coffeemaker brews up to 5 cups of coffee
  • Filter cone sits inside decanter making it more compact and easier to use
  • Concealed, removable water reservoir; automatic keep-warm function
  • Replaceable water filter; measuring spoon and user manual included
  • Measures 6 by 8-7/8 by 10-5/8 inches; 1-year limited warranty
Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker also makes really good coffee, mainly because of the cone-bottom filter (I'll never go back to flat-bottom filters!) The Zutto is extremely well-designed and functional. The coffee filter is in the lid of the pot (not attached to the maker, like most autodrip models), and there is a removable charcoal water filter to remove chlorine, etc.

The coffee was excellent, the best I've ever had from an automatic drip maker. I still don't understand how the rest of the human race can drink hot coffee straight from the pot without scalding their tongues. Maybe it's just that the warming plate doesn't keep coffee at boiling temperature, but it shouldn't: that would ruin the flavor of the coffee (and I've had a few cheap coffee makers that did scorch the coffee in a very short time.)

This Zojirushi  Zutto coffeemaker works very well for me; I get 2-3 cups per batch and I drink them up. I think warmers on all coffeemakers are kinda suspect; nothing new there. The only design glitch that I see is that it can be tricky to pour with the filter insert in place.

This Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker product earned 524 customer reviews and 84% are satisfied (as 28/02/2014). Anyway if you are the sole coffee drinker in your home and you like GOOD coffee, and you don't dig the flavor-limitations or wastefulness of those pod-based things, this is a perfect coffee-maker for you.
