Jura-Capresso 13548 Impressa J6 Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center

Extensive research and $600 off the sticker price led me to the Jura-Capresso 13548 Impressa J6. I've now had the machine for two years and it is still going strong, and bought it at my local Sur le Table store. This was my first automatic machine and I am still totally freaked out at how expensive they are. That being said, the machine makes amazing coffee.

It's also really cool to make tea and hot soup with the hot water feature. The Jura-Capresso Impressa J6 refurbished machine is about $1,000, a significant savings. The only difference is that you get a 1-year guarantee from Jura. I recommend this option. The machine works well overall (knock on wood) and I expect to keep getting amazing coffee for years to come.
  • Automatic coffee and espresso center grinds, tamps, and brews in under 60 seconds
  • Built-in 6-setting conical burr grinder; 15-bar pump; 1450-watt stainless-steel-lined Thermoblock system
  • Manual/auto frothers; 6 pre-programmed beverage buttons; 11 programming options; LED display
  • 71-ounce removable water tank; 9-ounce bean container; pre-ground coffee funnel; dual coffee spouts; water filter
  • Measures 16-1/2 by 11 by 13-1/4 inches; 2-year limited warranty
Cleaning the Jura Impressa J6 machine is also easy. We have been cleaning the machine after every 180 coffees or so, and descaling after about 280 coffees. The Jura Impressa J6 will automatically clean itself when it gets dirty. You NEED to buy cleaning tablets and filters for the machine. If you don't, the machine will get dirty, or clogged with hard water buildup and...

Some people may not like spending more money on extras for an already expensive machine but I'll admit that the cleaning cycles work and I've had consistently great tasting coffee and espresso for the past year because I've cleaned it as directed.

Making cappuccinos is easy and fast. The manual suggests that you clean the dual-frother with the Jura cleaning fluid but I have not bothered with this. Oily beans are not a problem. The coffee is still fantastic.
Again, I love this Jura-Capresso 13548 Impressa J6 machine. In my opinion, the Jura Impressa J6 brews the perfect espresso, every time. If you're primarily a coffee drinker, think twice.

If you've never ground your own beans and store your coffee in the freezer, stop reading now and look somewhere else. It's not for coffee drinkers that drown their drink in cream and sugar to get rid of that "bitter" coffee taste.

It's best if you appreciate a good cup of freshly ground black coffee. If you want a latte, the water spout does a great job frothing milk, both with a standard attachment that goes into the milk, and a hose that I prefer to use. So, in order of tastiness: Perfect Espresso, Great Latte, Good Coffee. Overall a positive experience and I would recommend Jura-Capresso 13548 Impressa J6 Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center to family and friend.
