This Jura 13423 Impressa S9 One Touch Automatic Coffee-and-Espresso machine is beautifully engineered. The designers have thought of everything. It's very expensive but it's obvious as to why. The machine has many adjustments and the default factory settings may not get you what you expect. The machine warms up quickly and can be programmed to come on automatically, so it will be ready when you walk into the kitchen.

The best part is that it makes the best coffee available in the home...or anywhere else for that matter. I am really pleased that a video is included along with extensive written directions. Admittedly when I took it out of the box it was pretty intimidating. It took about a week before I was comfortable with all the features.

Somebody here mentioned that Jura 13423 Impressa S9 One Touch makes bitter non-drinkable American coffee (it scared me). Not true. You need to read the manual and change settings to mild and extra mild, plus use appropriate beans for american coffee (I am simple - I use Starbucks blonde roast or to fancy it up - Costa Rico sumatra - medium roast). Coffee is very good.

That said this machine will produce an excellent espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. if you're willing to experiment and set it up to suit your taste. But you do have to read the manual and experiment. Keep up with the maintenance on this machine and it will take care of you. It's pricey, so just keep up with the maintenance to get your money's worth.

The machine will let you know when it's time to change the water filter, clean using the tablets, and de-calcify.  One touch indeed. That pretty much sums it up.
