Reviews Gaggia 1003380 Accademia Espresso Machine

I purchase this Gaggia 1003380 Accademia Espresso Machine unit a couple of months ago after reading a number of reviews and watching u-Tube videos, etc. I will admit that it took a bit of motivation for me to spend 2K on an espresso machine. But this thing has entered my home and changed the way I enjoy morning coffee. I use to have coffee in the morning, now enjoy a cappuccino and my wife has her favor as well.

This is my 8th machine and by far my favorite. Having owned one Capresso C1500, three Jura-Capressos, one Saeco and now the Gaggia Academia, I've found this machine to outperform the rest by far. I loved the quality of the Capresso and Jura-Capresso machines, but having to send them in once a year for service at a cost of over $300 was excessive.

I love this Jura Impressa J9 One Touch TFT Coffee Machine. I also have a krupps super automatic as well and I prefer this one. The Impressa J9 is Jura's current top-of-the-line model and, at first glance, it looks the part. Gleaming silver body and chrome buttons and accents plus a color LCD screen make a positive first impression.

One complaint though is that the spout height is slightly low and so I cannot fit certain mugs in there. Not a deal breaker but it is an inconvenience. The thing I like about the jura is the ability to bypass the whole bean grinder and use preground coffee. Since with any super automatic, you need to be very careful about the oiliness of the bean, this is a great feature when you still want flavored coffee.

This Jura 13423 Impressa S9 One Touch Automatic Coffee-and-Espresso machine is beautifully engineered. The designers have thought of everything. It's very expensive but it's obvious as to why. The machine has many adjustments and the default factory settings may not get you what you expect. The machine warms up quickly and can be programmed to come on automatically, so it will be ready when you walk into the kitchen.

The best part is that it makes the best coffee available in the home...or anywhere else for that matter. I am really pleased that a video is included along with extensive written directions. Admittedly when I took it out of the box it was pretty intimidating. It took about a week before I was comfortable with all the features.
